Design Decisions

The design of the NDM website follows a clear and intentional philosophy: modern, technical, and minimalistic, reflecting the identity of NDM as a developer‑focused tool.

Our goal was to create an interface that feels fast, structured, and transparent, without unnecessary decoration or visual noise.

Color System

To maintain clarity and simplicity, the entire website uses a strict 9‑color palette. This constraint ensures:

  • A consistent visual identity
  • High contrast and readability
  • A clean and transparent look
  • Reduced cognitive load for users

By limiting the palette, the design stays focused and avoids the “over‑styled” feeling common in many modern websites.

Technical Aesthetic

NDM is a tool built for developers, so the website should look like a developer tool.

To achieve this, the hero section uses a dynamic grid background. This pattern:

  • Moves subtly to create a sense of depth
  • Represents structure, analysis, and data
  • Reinforces the technical nature of NDM
  • Adds a modern, animated feel without being distracting

The grid is intentionally minimal: no gradients, no heavy textures, just a clean animated pattern that communicates “developer tooling”.

Minimalistic Layout

The layout follows a strict minimalistic approach:

  • Large spacing
  • Clear typography
  • No unnecessary UI elements
  • Focus on content and clarity

NDM is a CLI tool, the website should not overshadow it. Instead, it should guide developers quickly to the information they need.

Consistency Across Components

Every component follows the same design rules:

  • Flat surfaces
  • No shadows unless necessary
  • Clear borders
  • Predictable spacing
  • Reusable UI patterns

This makes the website feel stable, structured, and professional. Just like the tool it represents.

Design Philosophy Summary

NDM’s design is built on three core principles:

  • Modern > clean animations, dynamic grid, fresh typography
  • Technical > structured visuals, developer‑oriented aesthetics
  • Simple > minimal colors, minimal components, maximum clarity

The result is a website that feels fast, precise, and trustworthy, exactly what developers expect from a tool like NDM.
